The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) is committed to providing excellent customer service. This reflects our goals of protecting public health and safety, keeping our customers informed and protecting our water resources through pollution prevention.

If you experience any of the following problems, please contact us:

  • Sewage backing up into your home through the floor drain.
  • Sewage smell outside your home.
  • The manhole cover is missing or offset.
  • The concrete stone has been offset from the inlet.
  • The street or yard has developed a cave-in or settlement near a sanitary or storm sewer.
  • The storm sewer along the street needs to be cleaned or repaired.

Urgent situations such as: sewage inside or outside of the house, missing manhole covers, flooded streets or yards will usually be inspected within several hours.

Reports of settlement or cave-ins that have developed in the ground or storm sewers that need to be cleaned will also be inspected, but may take a few weeks.
